A charger is a charger is a charger, right? Not quite, but those of you who have owned Hitec chargers already know that. Since the release of the X4 many years ago, Hitec has been at the forefront of the charger game and from the looks of their latest release, they’re going to stay right where they are near the top. When the X4 first came out, it was all the rage for many consumers as it could charge four batteries at once! They followed that up with the X1 and X1-200 which are both minute in size but offer touch screen performance and ease. The X1 Pro soon followed and everyone marveled at the small size that contained such a potent and capable unit. After that, the X2 came out and was so popular for the massive amounts of power it could dole out to two batteries simultaneously. They couldn’t possibly improve upon that, right? Wrong.

x2-ac-pro-charger-2Pro. Like the X2 Plus, it is a dual port charging station and it is red, but that’s about where the similarities end. This new, high-powered unit can dish out up to 20 amps of charging power on the “A” channel and the balancing circuitry has been updated to pull 300mAh out for a faster overall charge. Basically, it is an X2 Plus on steroids, but that’s not even the best part. Much to our using pleasure, the X2 Pro has a 60 watt soldering iron built into the case, right smack in between the two charger output plugs. That’s two birds with one stone … so to speak, but it also means you’ll never be left out to dry when you forget your soldering iron at home and need to swap out some plugs at the field. The iron easily plugs into the charger when needed or can be removed for hassle free charging duties.
